WSD Employee and Teacher
I started working at Whim So Doodle in September of 2012. In 2002 we moved here from Seattle, and I scrapbooked for the first time by making scrapbook of our children growing up for my parents. This way they miss out quite so much on their grandchildren’s lives. From there, I discovered “stamping and card making” when I went to my first “stamping workshop party”. I get inspired by seeing the joy in others when I help them create and learn that they too can be creative.
Cards are my favorite, using all types of mediums and styles (cute, fun, elegant, vintage…etc.). I love to be able to make a little piece of art and give it away, so I can share what I made. Which is why card making is just perfect for me. I also enjoy working on canvas too, but I only have so much wall space! My favorite Whim So Doodle products are the Lawn Fawn stamps & coordinating dies. The stamps are so cute that they make me smile just looking at them in the packaging!!
I teach the stamping card class – primarily cards but I love to also do 3-D projects, like treat holders/boxes/bags. My regular class attendees know that if we make some kinds of “treat holder” that they always come with the treats! Of course, not all the treats makes it home with my students
I love to travel with friends and/or family. Which I am able to do more now that I am an “empty nester” with my two beautiful girls (Amanda & Kayla) all grown up and out on their own. My husband, Andy, and I have been married almost 23 years. I enjoy a variety of crafts, primarily cards, mixed media and I am a “planner girl”. I also love to try new foods and shop! What is your favorite way to play creatively?
A fun fact about me is that I have changed career choices several times since I graduated from High School over 30+ years ago. I have worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, hotel management, certified purchasing agent/buy – specializing in electronics, and now HR management for a large corporation. Working/teaching at Whim So Doodle is my “fun job”, where I meet so many great people and get to exercise the fun/creative side of my brain. I also love Hello Kitty stuff and reading for enjoyment. I am told I am a great cook, which I love to do…..but I rarely ever follow a recipe!
