WSD Teacher

I started teaching at Whim So Doodle in February of 2017. I am a stay-at-home wife and mom to one son.  Other than art, I love the decorate my home, cook and garden.  I am also an avid reader.

As a kid, I loved to draw and sketch.  Unfortunately, in high school, I had an art teacher who was not very encouraging.  In college, I picked a “real career” and studied accounting.  After I became a stay-at-home mom, I started exploring my creative side again.  In the past few years, I have been lucky enough to study under some of the best mixed media artists and I have developed my own style.

When I am struggling creatively, I find that spending time in nature also inspires me.  I am lucky to live near several lakes and a few public gardens, in case my own yard is not enough inspiration.

At times I like to challenge myself to only use what is on my table.  Some of my best journal pages have come from these challenges. I teach the Art Journaling monthly meet-up and other mixed media classes. I always say that I haven’t met a product that I don’t like. I especially love Dina Wakely’s section and I have a mild stencil addiction.

A fun fact about me is that I taught group fitness classes for 20 years and I love kickboxing!
