Sewing Class with Ma Ma Osa/Alisha Cooke - Garment Sewing - Linen Tank Top - August 29th 10am-1pm - $85
This is a beginner level sewing class, but advanced sewist would enjoy it as well because everyone needs linen garments in their closet! We will be learning French Seams as well as working with bias tape. Whim So Doodle is now carrying several linen fabrics as well as cotton linen blends to choose from.
What to bring:
Your pre laundered fabric to avoid shrinkage.*info below
Optional: Your sewing machine if desired (or use one at the shop)
A sewing kit if you have one - scissors, seam ripper, pins, a 1 inch and 1/2 inch bias tape maker (or use mine). Bias tape maker sold at Whim So Doodle.
*Ideally, you will go to the store and pick up your fabric ahead of time. There is a 10% discount for students taking classes. Take it home and wash it on a cool gentle cycle and tumble dry low. Iron at home or bring it to the class to iron. Yardage to purchase - 0/2-12/14 33-40 inch bust needs 1 yard, 16/18-28/30 42-56 inch bust needs 1.5 yards. IF you are unable to do this I suggest sewing a size up just in case of shrinkage during your first wash.
