Easy and fun to make, these bags in five sizes are perfect for storing and carrying make-up, sewing supplies, tech gear, and more. IN THIS CLASS YOU WILL GET TO MAKE ONE BAG, THE SIZE OF YOUR CHOICE.  Double-slide zippers and handy grab tabs make the bags easy to open wide and attached side panels prevent contents from falling out.
An optional strap with swivel hook may also be added.

Medium (M): 41⁄4"H x 51⁄2"W x 4"D
Large (L): 47⁄8"H x 61⁄2"W x 45⁄8"D
Extra Large (XL): 51⁄2"H x 71⁄2"W x 5"D


Skill Level: Beginner


Materials needed: (from the back of the pattern)
The class will focus on constructing the quilted version of the Clam Up Zippered Pouches.
Supplies Needed for Day of Class:

By Annie Clam Up pattern
□ Sewing machine with power cord and foot pedal (manual for any assistance with the
machine)
□ Knee Lifter (optional)
□ Recommended Feet: 1⁄4” foot, zipper foot, edge (topstitch) foot, and walking foot
□ Recommended Needles: size#90/14 Microtex needle
□ Coordinating Thread
□ Rotary Cutter and Personal Cutting Mat
□ Rulers (a variety of sizes are helpful)
□ Pins
□ Scissors and Thread snips
□ Wonder clips (small and large)
□ Washout Marking pencils or pens; Frixion Pens; chalk; Air Erase Pen to mark with
□ Pencil (notetaking)
□ Stiletto
□ Small Iron and pressing mat for personal use
□ Basting Spray (helps secure quilting layers) or Safety Pins
□ Irons and Large Cutting Mats (provided by store)


Review the pattern for any additional supplies and tools. This is a 3 1⁄2 hour. Feel free to bring something to eat and drink while you work on your project.

HOMEWORK.... Completing the prework before the day of class is recommended to help ensure you finish the Clam Up Zippered Pouch during class.


Complete the following in advance:
□ Read pages 1 – 2 to familiarize yourself with the general information. The class will focus
on the Quilted Version only.
□ Read all my instructions before you begin.
□ Print page 8—the labels. VERY IMPROTANT TO ATTACH LABELS TO YOUR PIECES.
□ Print the appropriate page for the size template you have selected to make.
□ On page 2, you will find the information regarding cutting. You will be cutting all the
pieces in advance.
□ At the beginning of class, you will layer the bag body pieces and stabilizer to quilt straight lines.


 CUT:
□ Prepare: Main Fabric, Lining Fabric and Soft and Stable for quilting – Determine the size.
▫ Use the measurements from the chart to determine the correct size of the pieces
to cut for the pouch you selected.
▫ Remember to skip the laminate (iron-on vinyl).
▫ Prepare Bag Body Templates – paper copy, freezer paper or template plastic. See
pages 9-13.

Bring the completed pieces (labeled), Bag Body Template, zipper, extra fabric, and the pattern to class. Class will begin with laying and quilting the Bag Body.
