HOMEWORK.... It is recommended to complete this before the day of the class to help ensure
you finish the Divided Basket the day of the class.
Complete the following in advance: (Page numbers may be “off” depending on pdf or pattern)
□ Read pages 2 – 4 to familiarize yourself with the general information, cutting tips, cutting
instructions and suggested cutting layouts. The pattern provides the option for quilting
the Exterior Main Panel pieces. Be sure to read through the additional information.
□ If you prefer to use CUT measurements, pattern piece sizes are listed withing each pattern
piece in [brackets].
□ Read all my instructions before you begin.
□ Cut all pieces as given on page 3.
□ There are no cutting labels for the pieces. Feel free to make yourself.

□ Choose your handle style (Step 3 - Page 7): fabric only, fabric covered handles or web-
bing. If using webbing for the handles, cut two pieces 8 1⁄2” long. If making fabric-only

handles, proceed to the next step of the pattern. If making fabric covered handles, a
demonstration will be provided at the beginning of class.
□ On page 4, Prepare: Apply Interfacing
o Follow the directions as written in the pattern.
o Instructor’s suggestion: Optional Quilting -- For the main panels, I prefer a light,
straight-line quilting with 1” spacing. This method does not significantly affect the
measurements. Baste the entire perimeter.

Please remember to bring all the required materials along with extra fabric and stabilizers and
the pattern to class. This will ensure we can begin our work promptly and efficiently.
We will begin with a demonstration on how to make the fabric covered handle and assembling
the lining.

I am looking forward to an exciting and engaging class as we explore and learn new tech-
niques together.
